दिसंबर महीने के लास्ट तक एक नया न्यूज चैनल अवतरित हो जाएगा. 'न्यूज17' नाम से. इसके सीईओ और एडिटर इन चीफ राजेश शर्मा हैं. एडिटोरियल और कंटेंट हेड देखेंगे विवेक अवस्थी. विवेक आईबीएन7, आजतक, जी न्यूज, स्टार न्यूज, दिल्ली आजतक समेत कई मीडिया हाउसों में काम कर चुके हैं. इस चैनल के लाइसेंस के लिए आवेदन किया जा चुका है और मंजूरी की प्रक्रिया में है. लाइसेंस मिलने के तुरंत बाद भर्ती की प्रक्रिया शुरू हो जाएगी. इस चैनल का टारगेट व्यूवर युवाओं को रखा गया है. यह नेशनल न्यूज चैनल होगा.चैनल प्रबंधन का दावा है कि डराने धमकाने और सनसनी मचाने वाली खबरें इस चैनल पर नहीं होंगी. चैनल का कामकाज बिलकुल ट्रांसपैरेंट रहेगा. चैनल प्रबंधन ने चैनल लांचिंग के संबंध में एक विज्ञप्ति जारी की है, जिसे यहां प्रकाशित किया जा रहा है. इस विज्ञप्ति में चैनल के संबंध में अन्य कई जरूरी जानकारियां हैं.
'NEWS 17' News Channel to be launched soon

The licence of News 17 is already in proicess with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and is expected to be with the proprietors soon. Infrastructure and recruitment process for News 17 will also be starting very soon. Rajesh Sharma said it NEWS 17 will be the news channel with difference where viewers will get complete package of news and infotainment in a totally new avtaar.
Amit Vaid said that keeping in mind that youngsters at present stay away from hard news channels, the aim of NEWS 17 be to break this trend. He said that the aim of the channel is to target youth and so it will be channel for ‘youngistan’.
The channel has roped in Vivek Avasthi as its Editorial and Content Head. Vivek Avasthi has been in print and electronic media for over 19 years. He has earlier worked with Aaj Tak, Zee News, Star News, Dilli Aaj Tak and IBN7 apart from other media organisations.
